Branding, web design and development with Hayley Potter

We collaborated with artist and writer Hayley Potter on the branding and design of her new Wild Blue Collection of greetings cards and ceramics, launching before lockdown in Jan 2020 at Top Drawer London. We have recently helped Hayley transition to a new website that has the scope to grow in these uncertain times.

Website

We researched, prototyped, designed and coded an e-commerce website, using a content management system that Hayley could use to manage inventory, customers and order fulfilment herself. We also integrated a VIP area of the website where stockists can place wholesale orders. The website launched to coincide with the launch of Hayley’s latest collection A/W 2020.

A/W 2020 Catalogue

Alongside the website, we helped Hayley develop a new collection of greetings cards, giclée and digital prints. We collated all of Hayley's new products into a new A/W 2020 printed and digital catalogue that landed to coincide with the launch of Hayley's new website.

Brand assets

Large logo
We developed a logo in collaboration with Hayley that used a combination of her handmade lettering, wild artwork, a simple copyline and her website.

Small logo
We also created a simple logotype designed to work at small sizes. This was based on Hayley’s signature to convey the handmade quality of her work.

Typography
To complement the logotype, we researched and selected Futura – a classic geometric sans-serif font to ensure legibility and consistency across all brand touchpoints.

Colour palette
Referencing the colours found in Hayley’s artworks, we created a simple colour palette to ensure colour consistency across print and web.

Exhibition stand design for Top Drawer S/S 2020

Hayley briefed us to design her Top Drawer exhibition stand, providing us with a sketch depicting her ambition and vision for her first trade fair. We mapped out Hayley’s vision onto a set of to-scale drawings,  ensuring the plan would work with the exhibition company’s panels.

We reproduced all of the large format artworks required to decorate Hayley’s Top Drawer exhibition stand – overseeing the digitisation, retouching, artwork and production of all the decals/vinyls by a third party printer.

Supporting print

We designed business cards for Top Drawer, as well as story cards and thank you postcards that Hayley could include with orders. We used matte art paper so each printed piece felt like an accurate reproduction of Hayley’s original artworks.

We designed and artworked each Wild Blue image as a greetings card, overseeing the production by a sustainable printer.

We made digital reproductions of her original Wild Blue artworks, and prepared each design for giclée printing.

Outcome

Hayley has received a great response to her work at Top Drawer and her new website. As a result, she now has a number of new stockists across the UK.
