About
I’m Paul Currah — an award-winning graphic designer and illustrator with 20 years experience. From my studio in Cornwall, I specialise in crafting enduring ideas first branding, packaging, illustration and digital design.
I am personable, enthusiastic and hard working. I am in my element when creatively collaborating with design agencies as a freelancer, or with clients directly as an independent brand designer.
Here are three things I can give you:
1. Big branding agency experience
I've worked as a designer/design director at branding agencies such as Turner Duckworth, Bloom, Dynamo, Superunion, The Partners, Modern Designers, DutchScot, Radford Wallis and Carter Wong.
I’ve worked with clients directly at brands such as ABinBev, BBC, Britvic, Deloitte, Diageo, Gatwick Airport, Hershey’s, Henkel, Intel, Jim Beam, Kerry Foods, KP Snacks, Land Securities, Pilgrim Foods, The National Gallery, Vodafone, Waitrose and many more.
2. Small brand expertise
I also really enjoy working with start-ups and small brands.
I helped create The Paleo Foods Co brand in 2013, which started life as hand packed product samples in health food shops, evolving into a mammoth brand that is stocked in major supermarkets today.
I regularly take on projects with artists, festivals, musicians, photographers, yoga teachers … and everyone in between!
3. Extra large results
I’ve been very fortunate to work with many wonderful people on some of the best projects imaginable. I’ve been a part of projects that have won six D&AD pencils, two Design Week wins, plus awards from Cannes Design Lions, Art Directors Club, Clios, New York Festivals and more.
But one of the most humbling and proudest achievements of my career so far has been helping charities access big branding agency expertise and achieve extra large results. I worked with Macmillan Cancer Support for 10 years on over 170 creative projects — playing a part in helping them increase their income by 61%, reach 69% more people and raise spend on cancer services by 71% / £74.9m.
